With less platform, youth excelling in Arts & Crafts in Valley | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNO): Despite lack of platforms, Kashmir has been witnessing youth getting into learning different crafts and arts in the recent past. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), young boys and girls are inclined into the art of learning like calligraphy, painting, handmade embroidery, photography. Alizah Balkhi, a Mandala artist from Srinagar said the art is the combination of Russian and Turkish patterns. While participating in the Winter Carnival Festival in Pahalgam on Sunday, she said, the art she has involved in talks about eternal peace and calmness. “Not only is art a fantastic profession, experimenting with a variety of materials has an enormous amount of fun. It takes a lot of efforts to draw an idea. It took me time to understand Mandala art,” she said. Another embroidery artist said that she has been learning the art from last year, apart from studies. “Whenever I have free time I keep myself busy with this art. The tourism department also gives us an opportunity to exhibit our work,” the artist said—(KNO)
